ORDINARY TIME (WINTER)

Between Christmas and Lent

The season of Ordinary Time begins on the Monday following the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, which replaces the First Sunday of Advent. Ordinary Time continues until the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday, at which time it pauses and resumes after the conclusion of the Easter season on Pentecost Sunday. The number of weeks in Ordinary Time between Christmas and Lent varies from year to year.
